All were nervously excited for the first Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company cabaret, which was titled, Gilbert and Sullivan: A Very Light Cabaret.  How would the event be received?  Would anyone come?

The cabaret was held on Friday, October 19th at Can Can Wonderland, in Saint Paul, as well as Saturday, October 20th and Sunday, October 21st at Honey, in northeast Minneapolis.

All were very pleased when audiences arrived and clearly enjoyed the delightful performances.  All hoped for expectations were met.  A large number of the company’s younger members had the opportunity to perform, donations to the company substantially surpassed expectations, and the event clearly reached many people who had never heard of the company but whose interests in Gilbert and Sullivan may have been piqued.
