Mozart Requiem in D Minor Program

Members of the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company, under the direction of Dr. Randal Buikema, were featured as soloists, chorus members and the orchestra in a performance of Mozart’s Requiem in D Minor, which was presented to honor the memory of Margaret “Peggy” Catherine Hurley Rich.

The event was conceived, sponsored, and facilitated by Peggy’s husband, Charley Rich, as a memorial to his wife, who passed away peacefully in her home, on August 9, 2023, at the age of 69, from complications related to ALS. As quoted from the event’s program, “Peg loved Mozart’s Requiem, and this performance seems like a perfect way to honor her memory. Charley, Peg’s husband, would like to express his profound thanks to Dr. Randal Buikema and the members of the chorus and orchestra of the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company for enthusiastically making this performance a reality. Peg, also, never missed their performances.”
