A message about Covid-19
As a result of the emerging situation regarding COVID-19 and in light of the current recommendations from the State of Minnesota, the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company is cancelling the remainder of its performances of Ruddigore.
This is a great disappointment for us – we have spent hundreds of hours preparing this show of which we are extremely proud and were eager to share with the community that has supported us over the years. We are also aware that many of you plan events around our spring productions and we are extremely sorry to disappoint you as well.
In this extraordinary time, we are humbly asking for your support. If it is right for you, please consider donating the cost of any tickets you purchased back to the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company. Our overwhelming source of income as an organization comes from ticket sales, and we rely on this income to pay vendors, our venue, rental fees, and, of course, our incredibly talented artists. We’ve always depended on your generosity to help us bring you the works of Gilbert and Sullivan every year, but your support now will make the biggest impact in the weeks, months, and years to come.
If you are willing to donate the cost of your ticket purchase, please send an email to notify us to donateticket@gsvloc.org, with “Ticket Donation” in the subject line. These donations are completely tax deductible, and you will receive a receipt and an acknowledgement of your donation.
You can also request a gift certificate in the amount of your ticket purchase. This certificate can be used toward the purchase of tickets to our shows over the next 18 months, and will be emailed to you over the next several weeks. To request a gift certificate, send an email to giftcertificate@gsvloc.org, with “Gift Certificate” in the subject line.
If it is not the right time for you and you wish to receive a refund for the cost of your tickets, please send an email to notify us to ticketrefund@gsvloc.org. Please put “Request Refund” in the subject line.
Without the support of our community, none of this is possible, and we thank you for your support of our efforts. The Board and members of the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company hopes you all stay well and urge you follow health guidelines.
We look forward to the day when we can once again bring you great music, please your eyes, make you laugh, and lighten your hearts. It’s what we love to do.
Wishing you well,
The Board and members of the Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company
